With many years of experience owning and managing commercial buildings in Auckland, Wilshire have moved into acquiring commercial buildings for redevelopment. Repurposing and repositioning buildings to bring them into the now, using best practice and a high degree of social consciousness at the forefront of each project.
In 1960s Auckland, 246 Queen Street was a proud nexus of architectural vision, forward-looking fashion retail and urban sophistication. Now, it stands ready to make its bold return as a revitalised mid city icon. A contemporary vision for the building from architects Fearon Hay sees it once more becoming a sophisticated, design-led city building, illuminated by a bright and dynamic central light shaft.
In their approach to redesigning and restoring 246 Queen Street, architects Fearon Hay have seized the opportunity to return the building to its past glory as a mid city design icon. Strong, sophisticated materials including terrazzo and glass feature alongside the raw concrete of the base structure. A full renovation from developer Wilshire Group in collaboration with Fearon Hay will transform this central Queen Street location into a new high quality landmark for the city.
